We do track WRF in SPEC 2006 and 2017 and fixed quite some memory/compile-time
hog issues with it. Let's close this report about an ancient version and
assume the issue was fixed.

This appears to be more than a fortran issue. I've changed
the component to tree-optimization out lack of a better choice.
