Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
gcc@gcc.gnu.org mailing list.

Acknowledgment: The address

   yzhou@silent-witness.com

was not on the gcc mailing list when I received
your request and is not a subscriber of this list.

If you unsubscribe, but continue to receive mail, you're subscribed
under a different address than you currently use. Please look at the
header for:

'Return-Path: <gcc-return-1234-user=host.dom@gcc.gnu.org>'

The unsubscribe address for this user would be:
'gcc-unsubscribe-user=host.dom@gcc.gnu.org'.
Just mail to that address, substituting user=host.dom for the real
values, reply to the confirmation request, and you should receive a message
that you're off the list.

For some mail programs, you need to make the headers visible to
see the return path:

For Eudora 4.0, click on the "Blah blah ..." button.
For PMMail, click on "Window->Show entire message/header".

If this still doesn't work, I'm sorry to say that I can't help you.
Please FORWARD a list message together with a note about what you're
trying to achieve and a list of addresses that you might be subscribed
under to my owner:

    gcc-owner@gcc.gnu.org

who will take care of it. My owner is a little bit slower than I am,
so please be patient.

--- Administrative commands for the gcc list ---

I can handle administrative requests automatically. Please
do not send them to the list address! Instead, send
your message to the correct command address:

To subscribe to the list, send a message to:
   <gcc-subscribe@gcc.gnu.org>

To remove your address from the list, send a message to:
   <gcc-unsubscribe@gcc.gnu.org>

Send mail to the following for info and FAQ for this list:
   <gcc-info@gcc.gnu.org>
   <gcc-faq@gcc.gnu.org>

Similar addresses exist for the digest list:
   <gcc-digest-subscribe@gcc.gnu.org>
   <gcc-digest-unsubscribe@gcc.gnu.org>

To get messages 123 through 145 (a maximum of 100 per request), mail:
   <gcc-get.123_145@gcc.gnu.org>

To get an index with subject and author for messages 123-456 , mail:
   <gcc-index.123_456@gcc.gnu.org>

They are always returned as sets of 100, max 2000 per request,
so you'll actually get 100-499.

To receive all messages with the same subject as message 12345,
send an empty message to:
   <gcc-thread.12345@gcc.gnu.org>

The messages do not really need to be empty, but I will ignore
their content. Only the ADDRESS you send to is important.

You can start a subscription for an alternate address,
for example "john@host.domain", just add a hyphen and your
address (with '=' instead of '@') after the command word:
<gcc-subscribe-john=host.domain@gcc.gnu.org>

To stop subscription for this address, mail:
<gcc-unsubscribe-john=host.domain@gcc.gnu.org>

In both cases, I'll send a confirmation message to that address. When
you receive it, simply reply to it to complete your subscription.

If despite following these instructions, you do not get the
desired results, please contact my owner at
gcc-owner@gcc.gnu.org. Please be patient, my owner is a
lot slower than I am ;-)

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
gcc@gcc.gnu.org mailing list.

To confirm that you would like

   yzhou@silent-witness.com

removed from the gcc mailing list, please send an empty reply
to this address:

gcc-uc.982693981.gceekpnnimpdfeappkme-yzhou=silent-witness.com@gcc.gnu.org

Usually, this happens when you just hit the "reply" button.
If this does not work, simply copy the address and paste it into
the "To:" field of a new message.

I haven't checked whether your address is currently on the mailing list.
To see what address you used to subscribe, look at the messages you are
receiving from the mailing list. Each message has your address hidden
inside its return path; for example, mary@xdd.ff.com receives messages
with return path: <gcc-return-<number>-mary=xdd.ff.com@gcc.gnu.org.

Some mail programs are broken and cannot handle long addresses. If you
cannot reply to this request, instead send a message to
<gcc-request@gcc.gnu.org> and put the entire address listed above
into the "Subject:" line.

--- Administrative commands for the gcc list ---

I can handle administrative requests automatically. Please
do not send them to the list address! Instead, send
your message to the correct command address:

Read the message. It told you precisely what the problem is:

Ie, you tried to unsubscribe "yzhou@silent-witness.com" from the "gcc" list
but the address is not subscribed to that list.

So, follow those directions. It's not that hard.

I'm afraid you'll have to figure out how you got subscribed before you
can unsubscribe. Maybe you're subscribed in some mail exploder, in
which case the mailing list instructions wouldn't apply to you. But
then, there's absolutely nothing we could do about it. If you have
indeed subscribed directly to the gcc@gcc.gnu.org mailing list, the
procedure you got in the mailing list help reply (the one that
mentions the list-unsubscribe header) is your best bet.

Follow the directions you received. It will work. In 3 years of
maintaining this list they always have once the person carefully
followed the directions.

Follow the directions carefully. They will indicate how to find out
precisely what address you're subscribed under.

Or I will set up a filter to resend all gcc mail I receive back to the list!!!

You guys are able to write compilers and you can't get ezmlm
configured properly!!?!
