Hi all,

I'm trying to build 3.1.1, but during the build, it is failing because it is
looking for a config.status file that isn't there, and I can't figure out
why it is looking for this file in this particular directory.

THE ERROR:
make[2]: Entering directory
`/gnu/gcc311bld/powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0/libstdc++-v3'
/bin/sh ./config.status --recheck
/bin/sh: ./config.status:  not found.
make[2]: *** [config.status] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/gnu/gcc311bld/powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0/libstdc++-v3'
make[1]: *** [all-target-libstdc++-v3] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/gnu/gcc311bld'
make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

(more details below)

The Details:
srcdir = /gnu/gcc-3.1.1
objdir = /gnu/gcc311bld

../gcc-3.1.1/configure --prefix=/gnu/gcc311 --with-as=/usr/ccs/bin/as --with
-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld

/gnu/gmake/bin/make CFLAGS='-O' LIBCFLAGS='-g -O2'
LIBCXXFLAGS='-g -O2 -fno-implicit-templates' bootstrap

Using GNU Make 3.79.1

No successful build of 3.1.1 on powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0 listed in the
buildstats, just with GCC 3.1.

I've looked around for the source of the various error messages, but can't
find them, and have searched the mailing list archives and Google also.

Any thoughts anyone would like to share about this problem would be much
appreciated!

Thank you,
Judy

   ^^ Use an absolute patch here (i.e. /gnu/gcc-3.1.1/configure ...)
