Hi ,
i am using GCC-3.4.2 g++ compiler , but i found that it will not
generate any warning or error message on conversion from int to bool ,
is it posible to generate a some form of warning when ever their is a
type conversion from int to bool or vice - versa.
However the same will works fine with the microsoft compiler.

Regards,
Deepak Kashyap

Hi Israel,

>I'm working with pthread, I mistaked the option -lpthread and the linker didn't
generate any error message, why?

Probably because there is a libpthread.a, libpthread.so, libpthread.dll,
libpthread.library, or libpthread.dylib on your platform. (Depending on
platform.)

Dear Sir/Madam.

I have a technical problem.

I have GCC-2.96 in my linux Redhat 7.1 System.

I Want to replace GCC-2.95.2 in that system.

Steps I have done to do the above task:
---------------------------------------

1. Downloaded GCC-2.95.2.tar.gz

2. Unpacked GCC-2.95.2.tar.gz

3. Created a directory gcc-install outside the unpacked directory.

4. cd gcc-install.

5. ../gcc-2.95.2/configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared

6. make bootstrap

7. At stage 2 i got error and make bootstrap got failed.

  (Error:
   ../../../gcc-2.95.2/libio/indstream.cc:85: 'struct streampos'
used where a 'int' was expected
   ../../../gcc-2.95.2/libio/indstream.cc:89: conversion from 'int'
   to non-scalar type 'streampos' requested
   ../../../gcc-2.95.2/libio/indstream.cc: In method 'struct streampos
   indirectbuf::seekpos(_G_fpos64_t,int=3)':

Please, Let me know about it.

Regards,
Ravindran.G
