Install package SUNWarc from your Solaris media. If you want to build
64-bit applications then you'll need SUNWarcx too.

Configuration:

Sun Solaris 5.8

gcc Version: 3.0.2

Command executed: "gcc a.c", where a.c is a skeleton C program

Error prompted:

ld: fatal: file values-Xa.o: cannot open file: No such file or
directory
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to a.out
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Command executed: "gcc -c a.c" runs successfully creating a.o

How can I link the object file to create an executable

Thanks a bunch.
