My gcc-2.95.2/configure is failing, with:
[root@alba compile]# /usr/src/gcc-2.95/configure
Configuring for a sparc-unknown-linux-gnu host.
Created "Makefile" in /usr/src/gcc-2.95 using "mt-frag"
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open crt1.o: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
*** The command '/usr/bin/gcc -o conftest -g -O2 conftest.c' failed.
*** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.
Currently I have egcs-1.1.2-12 installed, and the GNU toolset (gcc,ld,as)
The gcc source is in /usr/src/gcc-2.95.2. I have already installed the new
config.guess and config.sub. The compile is being done in
/usr/src/compile.
Thoughts?
ciao!

A-ha! Figured out the issue. something about not having things like
"stdio.h" can cause a problem! :)
Didn't realize these weren't there. Installed the rpm and off we go.
ciao!
