I have a basic question. When I try to configure gcc
on a Solaris box I get the error:
no acceptable cc found in $PATH
what do you mean by that? do I have to have a c
compiler already on the system? do I have to have a
folder name in the PATH variable with a "cc" in it?
or do I have to have a separate environment variable
called "cc"?
Thanks in advance,

Yep. Otherwise, how do you expect to compile GCC?
You probably need a pre-compiled binary to bootstrap. There are links
at gcc.gnu.org.

Hi,
Me again, I think I figured it out from the instructions for getting an
.exe file from a compiled C file. If there is a better way to do it
please let me know, otherwise disregard.
thanks

Hi,
I have installed MYSYS and mingw for windows and have managed to compile
a small file but can not figure out how to run it. I have read the
manual but somehow it still escapes me ( I have not used fortran since
the days of card decks). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
bea
