State-Changed-When: Tue May 2 13:37:51 2000
State-Changed-Why:
This seems to be a transient bug, most likely with the
gcc middle and/or back end. I can't reproduce it with a
`jc1' built of the current CVS tree. Can you confirm this?

State-Changed-Why:
Alex couldn't reproduce this on May 5, and I can't reproduce
it now. Suspect it was a transient backend bug.
