     Good catch. The bug was due to fields acquired through reading
     a class file that were missing an extension we use to track
     the assignment of finals.
     
     I attached a patch.

 mips_expand_prologue should fail to emit that which is not necessary.
 
 I'm moderately surprised that the Irix folks are not seeing this.
 At least they aren't screaming.  In any case, you'll be wanting to
 submit test cases with (or without) any patches you might send.
 There was no way anyone could have done something useful with this
