    David, could you try the attached patch?  It fixes the problem for me,
    but I've no way to verify it on AIX.
    
    I've obviously overlooked that execute () is invoked twice,
    once from do_spec_1 () where I added the necesary call to
    set_collect_gcc_options (), and another time in the body of
    do_spec () (primarily/only used when just linking).  The revised
    patch just adds this call.
    
    This didn't affect bootstraps on alpha-dec-osf5.1,
    mips-sgi-irix6.5, or sparc-sun-solaris2.8, even though
    the latter two are also multilibbed targets.
