    Can you do the following:
    (1) Get gcc 3.0.3, since there have been a few bugfixes in that
        release.  See http://gcc.gnu.org for how to obtain it.
    
    (2)  Look at the release notes for HPUX:
    http://gcc.gnu.org/install/specific.html#hppa*-hp-hpux11
    
    You need to use GNU binutils 2.11 or higher on HP-UX.
    
    We have successful bootstrap reports of gcc on HPUX here:
