 I haven't had time to look at this in detail, so will have to wait for =
 3.1.1 now
  - I have version 7.2 of SGI MipsPro tools
  - I can reproduce the probelm with CVS from 20020508
  - linking with -static works
  - compiling zblat3.o (only) with g77 from 2.95 gives same problem
 
 Perhaps a shared library problem.  I had GOT issues with incremental
 linking of libjava.so using libtool. =20

 David, could you please confirm whether you can reproduce this with 
 current CVS for the gcc 3.2 branch, or for the mainline branch.  If not,
