 Hi,

 the testcase can be reduced to the following (legal) code snippet
 (just compile with g++ -c):

 ----------------------------snip here---------------------------
 template<int N> class A
 {
     template<int I,int J> friend int foo();
 };

 A<0> a;

 template<int I,int J> int foo() { return J; }

 void bar() { foo<0,0>(); }
 ----------------------------snip here---------------------------

 The bug is present in gcc 2.95.x, 3.0.x, 3.1 and in the main trunk.
 (checked on i686-pc-linux-gnu and mips-sgi-irix6.5).

 Greetings,
 Volker Reichelt

>Description:
Compiling the test code (as attached), the compiler
reports an internal compiler error or crashes:

Removing TONS of code to get a minimal example made the
SIGSEGVs vanish; the internal errors remaining:

gcc -c crashme.cc -Wno-non-template-friend -DBUG=0
crashme.cc: In function `void internal_vect::mult_mv(internal_vect::vector<r>&,
   const internal_vect::matrix<r, c>&, const
   internal_vect::vector<c>&) [with int r = 10,
   int c = 10, int N = 3]':
crashme.cc:53:   instantiated from `void
   vect::operator*=(vect::Vector<R>&, const
   vect::Matrix<N, N>&) [with int N = 10]'
crashme.cc:89:   instantiated from here
crashme.cc:37: Internal compiler error in c_expand_expr,
   at c-common.c:3650
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:http://www.gnu.org/software/gcc/bugs.html> for instructions.

Similar thing with
gcc -c crashme.cc -Wno-non-template-friend -DBUG=1

(Please don't tell me that I shall make the demo code
even shorter. I already spent two hours or more to strip
it down to that size; removing any individual line will
prevent the bug from showing up.)
