 Agreed.  Besides, playing music sounds like something that belongs on
 the 3.4-basic-improvements branch, not the mainline or release branch at
 this stage.  Maybe I can work on that.

GCC Fails to play elevator muzak whilst compiling:

As any good hacker knows, everything that takes a while to happen requires quiet, "easy-listening" elevator-style muzak to play in the background. GCC certainly fulfils the time requirement on many occassions, but it fails to play the required muzak.

This is a major problem that must be resolved
