 confirmed on redhat 8.0
 
 
 Also it seem tied up with i686 architecture.
 
 Since on redhat 8.0 gcc 3.2:
 
 g++ -O2 test1.cpp
 
 works:
 
 and on mandrak9.0 gcc 3.2
 
 g++ -O2 -march=i386 test1.cpp
 
 also works.
