State-Changed-Why:
    This still happens with 3.2: when I configure with 
    --disable-multilib, then (of course) only the 32-bit
    libraries are generated, but they are installed in the
    64-bit directory. One has to manually copy (or symlink)
    them into the 32-bit directory to make the whole thing
    work.
