    On Linux, and with a recent snapshot, I get these two
    symbols:
    00000000 V _ZZN3fooILi1EE3valEvE1x
    00000000 V _ZZN3fooILi2EE3valEvE1x
    
    You did not say which version of gcc you used for the report.
    Do you remember this?
