Synopsis: Duplicate use of class name is ignored
State-Changed-From-To: analyzed->closed
State-Changed-By: lerdsuwa
State-Changed-When: Thu Mar 6 15:00:40 2003
State-Changed-Why:
Not a bug. Inside the scope of class 'A', the name 'A' is introduced to refer to the class itself. So 'A::A' (the name 'A' inside class 'A') is equivalent to 'A' and so on.

gcc version 3.4 20030128 (experimental)

The following code compiles and links, and it seems that it shouldn't:
bug.cxx:
-----------------------------------
#include <iostream>
struct A {
static void foo();
};
void
A::A::A::A::A::A::A::A::foo()
{
std::cerr << "A::A::A::A::A::A::A::A::foo" << std::endl;
}
int
main()
{
A::A::foo();
return 1;
}
