Synopsis: Certain -D values cause gcc to issue strange errors

State-Changed-Why:
This compiles fine for me, but then I'm on a different system.

My guess is that somewhere between shell and gcc's driver,
one of the arguments to -D is broken up at spaces. Can
you try to identify the argument that is causing this,
    and why this is happening?

    W.
