 Yes, I was a bit too fast on sending the report...
 Indeed, it works perfectly well on Linux, but enters an infinite loop on
 sparc-sun-solaris2.8; here is the result of 'g++ -v' that I 
 forgot to join to the mail:
 % g++ -v
 Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/3.3/specs
 Configured with: ../configure --enable-languages=c,c++,f77
 --with-as=/usr/ccs/binn/as --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --disable-nls
 Thread model: posix
 gcc version 3.3 20030509 (prerelease)

 PS: The same problem occurs with all official releases of gcc since
