	This is for gcc-core-3.0.tar.gz built alone:

	'make distclean' doesn't remove gcc/tm.h and the
	symlink gcc/libgcc_s.so.1. OTOH, it does remove
	gcc/po/stamp-cat-id which comes with the tarball.

	'make bootstrap' is very noisy with gcc -W... warnings.
	I don't think -W<everything> should be the default.

The following reply was made to PR other/3415; it has been noted by GNATS.

 The symlink gcc/libgcc_s_sparcv9.so is not deleted in 3.2.1 either.
 Nor if I build in a separate directory like the instructions say:

 bash$ make bootstrap distclean
 bash$ ls -lAR
 .:
 total 6
 drwxr-xr-x   2 hbf      usit         6144 Dec 23 14:25 gcc/

 gcc:
 total 1
 lrwxrwxrwx   1 hbf      usit           21 Dec 23 14:25 libgcc_s_sparcv9.so -> sparcv9/libgcc_s.so.1

 The problem wtih gcc/po/stamp-cat-id is gone.
 ('make distclean' deleted it even though it was in the gcc-3.2 tarball.
 However, it is not present in the 3.2.1 tarball so that's OK.)

Synopsis: noisy build process with incomplete cleanup

State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback
State-Changed-By: bangerth
State-Changed-When: Sat Dec 21 09:14:44 2002
State-Changed-Why:
    I don't have such a machine, so would like to ask you whether
    you can retry your experiment with gcc3.2.1, and see whether
    the two files are still not deleted?

    The thing with the warnings is intentional. The number
    of warnings in the source code has also been greatly
    reduced recently.
