>Description:
Declaring an object (rather than, what would be correct, a pointer to an
object) causes the compiler to crash when one tries to send a message
to that object.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to compile the following code:
@interface X {
}
@end
void xyz(X y)
{
[y do_something];
}
A crash occurs:
crash_objc.m: In function `xyz':
crash_objc.m:7: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,

Synopsis: Crash if an object is declared instead of a pointer to an object
State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback
State-Changed-By: bangerth
State-Changed-When: Sat Mar 15 19:05:36 2003
State-Changed-Why:
With present 3.3 branch, I get
g/x> /home/bangerth/bin/gcc-3.3-pre/bin/gcc -c x.m
x.m: In function `xyz':
x.m:7: warning: `X' does not respond to `do_something'
Does this indicate that the bug has been fixed?
Thanks
Wolfgang

Does not happen to me with gcc version 3.3 20021107 (experimental) on
i686-pc-linux-gnu
or gcc version 3.3 20021029 (experimental) on powerpc-apple-darwin6.1
but did happen on gcc version 3.1.1 on i686-pc-linux-gnu.
Thanks,
Andrew Pinski
