Since 980328, texinfo/configure contains:
EGCS_PROG_INSTALL
(not configure._in_) which results in:
checking how to run the C preprocessor... (cached) gcc -E
checking whether gcc needs -traditional... (cached) no
././configure: EGCS_PROG_INSTALL: command not found
checking for ranlib... (cached) ranlib
checking for texconfig... (cached) true
it's not defined in texinfo/aclocal.m4, and is still in 980404 (I did
a fresh checkout from the cvs tree)

I don't see this. EGCS_PROG_INSTALL is defined in aclocal.m4 and is used in
configure.in, and does not appear at all in configure.
This problem was fixed March 26.
