I am trying to compile a cross-compiler from i686-pc-linux-gnu to
armv2-unknown-linux using the following configure command:

../gcc-2.95.3/configure --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu
--target=armv2-unknown-linux --enable-languages=c
--prefix=/home/ian/projects/armlinux/tools-armv2/

however, it fails make with:

for name in _eh; \
do \
  echo ${name}; \
  /home/ian/projects/armlinux/build-gcc/gcc/xgcc
-B/home/ian/projects/armlinux/build-gcc/gcc/
-B/home/ian/projects/armlinux/tools-armv2//armv2-unknown-linux/bin/
-I/home/ian/projects/armlinux/tools-armv2//armv2-unknown-linux/include -O2
-DCROSS_COMPILE -DIN_GCC -g -O2 -I./include -fomit-frame-pointer -fPIC
-g0 -DHAVE_GTHR_DEFAULT -DIN_LIBGCC2 -D__GCC_FLOAT_NOT_NEEDED
-fexceptions -I. -I../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc -I../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/config
-I../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/../include -c \
      -DL${name} ../../gcc-2.95.3/gcc/libgcc2.c -o ${name}.o; \
  if [ $? -eq 0 ] ; then true; else exit 1; fi; \
  armv2-unknown-linux-ar rc tmplibgcc2.a ${name}.o; \
  rm -f ${name}.o; \
done

Now, I didnt enable threads, and I have built this version of gcc as a
cross compiler on a different machine successfully.

any ideas?
