This patch is against egcs-980401. It allows configuring gcc
for the WindRiver VxWorks OS on MIPS, which uses ELF. This system
uses gas & the gnu linker.

The Changelog entries would be something like:

gcc directory:
Wed Apr 1 21:32:00 1998 Don Bowman <don@pixsci.com>

        * configure: add suport for mips-wrs-vxworks, a MIPS ELF target
          which uses gas & ld
        * configure.in: likewise

The following patch was generated by running:

$ cvs diff -c5 gcc/configure gcc/configure.in [from the egcs directory]

Thanks. I made some trivial cleanups to the change and installed it.
