We need to decide whether we can accept and want this patch in
the branch. I've posted my thoughts on it.
At this stage, I am thinking it might be better to wait until
after the season holidays to release. Otherwise, I fear that
people aren't going to read their emails during the break and
then come back from the holidays with lots of emails, thus
giving the announcement less attention.
