Summary: support thread names when switching
           Product: gdb
           Version: HEAD
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: threads
        AssignedTo: unassigned@sourceware.org
        ReportedBy: tromey@redhat.com

It would be nice if you could switch to a thread by name.
There are some caveats to this:
* It isn't clear how to make "thread apply" handle names properly
* "thread NAME" is ambiguous if NAME is also the name of a subcommand.
A new "thread switch" subcommand could remove this ambiguity.
* Multiple threads can have the same name; in fact this is normal on Linux.
