I am doing multi-inferior debugging of firefox.

During my most recent debug session, I typed a command
while the inferiors were still running (it's often hard
to tell if I have a prompt or not...).  When the inferior
stopped, this happened:


(gdb) 
Continuing.
readline: readline_callback_read_char() called with no handler!


After this gdb exited and I was left back in the shell.

I fixed a bunch of bugs that ended in that assertion failing, in 7.8, and then
a few more in 7.8.1 and mainline.
