This does no longer crash since 8.0:
(gdb) info frame 2
Stack frame at 0x2:
rip = 0x0; saved rip = <not saved>
Outermost frame: previous frame identical to this frame (corrupt stack?)
Arglist at 0x22ff50, args:
Locals at 0x22ff50, Previous frame's sp is 0x0
And since 8.3, it even has a nice error message:
(gdb) info frame 1
No frame at level 1.
