Bug ID: 27088
Summary: Documentation error in range checking bounds of type
Product: gdb
Version: unknown
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: gdb
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: martin.kielhorn at philips dot com
Target Milestone: ---
The documentation for range checking the bounds of a type has a mistake:
https://sourceware.org/gdb/current/onlinedocs/gdb/Range-Checking.html#Range-Checking
The last paragraph says:
> show range
> Show the current setting of the range checker, and
> whether or not it is being set automatically by GDB.
Instead it should say:
> show check range
> Show the current setting of the range checker, and
> whether or not it is being set automatically by GDB.
Example call:
(gdb) show range
Debugger's willingness to use range stepping is on.
(gdb) show check range
Range checking is "auto; currently off".
