Minimal example to reproduce the bug:
- gdb --tui
- (make sure the focus is not in the terminal window, as it is after startup)
- press C-r to start the reverse command search
- press any arrow key or PgUp/PgDown
- (notice how typing is blocked, and Enter does not return to the prompt)
- press C-c
gdb crashes with the message "free(): double free detected in tcache 2" and
dumps core.

I used gdb version 10.2 on Arch Linux.

I discovered this bug while trying to recall a previously typed command to edit
it before executing it while the focus was on another window.
