Folks,

Using GNU gdb 6.3 on 2.6.12.5 kernel (uname -a: Linux xxx.com 2.6.12.5
#1 SMP Wed Aug 31 23:52:18 PDT 2005 i686 pentium4 i386 GNU/Linux), when
I generate a core file of a Java process that is 1.9gb I get a 13mb (!)
core file. Many addresses in that core are not accessible. There is no
complaining from gcore about not enough space or other issues when I
issue it, and ulimit show core blocks as unlimited. When I tried it on
2.6.something-else with GNU gdb Red Hat Linux (5.3.90-0.20030710.40rh) I
get a full very large core file.

Chris
