Summary: ldconfig doesn't ignore .py files
Product: glibc
Version: 2.13
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: libc
AssignedTo: drepper.fsp@gmail.com
ReportedBy: hjl.tools@gmail.com
Some packages install .py files and ldconfig complains:
/sbin/ldconfig: /opt/gnu/lib/libisl.so.6.0.0-gdb.py is not an ELF file - it has
the wrong magic bytes at the start.
I think ldconfig should ignore them silently.

And who do you reliably recognize these files?
I think it's just plain wrong to place these scripts in the lib directories.
The mechanisms gdb uses to locate them allow the files to be placed anywhere.
This is just some lazy developer at Intel dropping the file in a directory
convenient to her/him.
