In master there is a commit (021db4be6f1f4189f66feee066a495d49e92b93e) which
adds a switch to install RPC headers again. It would make sense to port this at
least to 2.15 before the next release, maybe even 2.14 (it's trivial with
cherry-pick).

I tested both patches by installing glibc-2.14/.15 with and without the switch
and using diff over usr/include

Paul,

A couple of minor nits with your patches.

The backports need to be adjusted to update the copyright years in all the
files that they touch following the guidelines in the contribution checklist on
the wiki:
http://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/Contribution%20checklist#Update_Copyright_Information

The patch looks good for 2.15, and I'll check it in once I see an updated patch
with copyright years.

The 2.14 release manager is Andreas Schwab and he will need to review the 2.14
patch.

Paul,

For avoidance of doubt we plan to update copyright years in all active branches
as part of an automated process. That way in the future submitters shouldn't
have to do this per file. I'm sorry :-(

Only FSF-copyright files.  Most of the files involved are not 
FSF-copyright.

Sorry for the trouble. Maybe you should add a link to the guidelines into
bugzilla or highlight it better. On the other hand I'm not sure if I would had
upstreamed those patches in that case.
