            Bug ID: 18858
           Summary: _HAVE_STRING_ARCH_xxx aren't defined for i386 nor
                    x86_64
           Product: glibc
           Version: 2.23
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: libc
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: hjl.tools at gmail dot com
CC: drepper.fsp at gmail dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

_HAVE_STRING_ARCH_mempcpy, _HAVE_STRING_ARCH_stpcpy, _HAVE_STRING_ARCH_stpncpy,
_HAVE_STRING_ARCH_strncpy, _HAVE_STRING_ARCH_strcpy aren't defined for
i386 nor x86_64. But they should have.

--- Comment #1 from joseph at codesourcery dot com <joseph at codesourcery dot com> ---
I think _HAVE_STRING_ARCH_mempcpy is expected to be defined only when
mempcpy is an alternative entry point to memcpy, as otherwise using
mempcpy will increase cache usage and so inlining the expansion in terms
of memcpy is expected to be more efficient.
