Hi,

I had experience with simple gnats(4) and gnatsweb installation and
configuration. Now I need to re-configure gnats or gnatsweb because all
users have access to all registers in database, and I need that each user
ONLY visualize/edit your registers. I think that is impracticable create one
database for each user. I had not success using gnatsd.access.

Is there a way to make this?

Thanks and Regards.
Eicke.

Have you gotten any response so far? If not, here's my $0.02:

I don't think what you're looking for is part of standard GNATS. If I
understand your problem, you want either each PR or a certain set of
fields within each PR to only be editable by the creator or otherwise
"owner" of those fields/PR. This is not possible.

The only GNATS access restriction occurs on the DB level, where users
may be placed into one of a handful of categories (admin, edit, view,
viewconf, listdb, etc). Only the first two in that list have the
privelidges to edit fields within PR (less the Audit-Trail, which is
updated with any and all relevant text that is emailed to your GNATS
system). There is no way to tie access restrictions to certain fields
within a PR or to certain PRs (but not others) within the same DB.

I think your best bet is to do one DB per user. It may not be the most
comfortable solution, but it's certainly the easiest (only one without
modifying significant portions of code).

Hope this helps!

David
