Hello Everyone,

Our company has been using the Gnats system for some time now and I have
just been given the job of administering.  So if I sound like a newby
you will understand why.  

Our users have asked for the following changes to the e-mail reporting
system.

1.  Have all e-mails sent via Gnats contain the Subject as well as the
ticket number.  Some responses only contain the ticket number.

2.  Put the name as well as the user ID of the responsible when
displayed.  When we make state changes it only shows the User ID.

Has anyone had these problems as well?  If so where do you suggest I
make the change?

gnats 4 : no pr-addr

in gnats 4 , 'at-pr' still point to 'pr-addr', but doesn't build/install
it.

grep pr-addr /home/gnats/install/libexec/gnats/at-pr
RESP_ADDR=`$LIBEXECDIR/pr-addr "$RESPONSIBLE"`

has 'pr-addr' been obsoleted ?
what is the replacement for it, please ?

i suppose it should be:
RESP_ADDR=`$QUERY_PR --responsible-address "$RESPONSIBLE"`

gnats4: creation page pb

hi,

when you go to the creation page , the first category is selected
automatically (nice!), but if you don't de-select res-select it then the
responsible parties wil not get email because it will be put in the
'pending' category just like if you didn't select any category.

Are you refering to gnatsweb 3.99.3? If so, I can't confirm your experience.

On the contrary, there is no way to avoid an automatic default selection with
gnatsweb, which is annoying when users forget to select one explicitly.

The default value for Category is the first one listed in the categories file.
In the distributed example file "pending" is the first category and gnatsweb
will preselect it for you. Isn't that what you are seeing?

If you introduce a category called "unknown" and list it as the first in
the category file, gnatsweb will preselect it as the default, but force another
selection on submission because it does not accept "unknown" as a category name
(this is purely a user interface matter). If the description for "unknown" is
something like "choose one", users are guided in a natural way.
