Redhat Linux 5.2 on a P2 333.
>Description:
Large amounts of a description may disappear if a PR is edited.
If the description initially consist of a large amount of text without any
carriage returns, then if the PR is edited (after the initial submit) by adding
a blank line and an additional short paragraph after the original long paragraph, the long paragraph
will disappear when the PR is re-saved/submitted. This is not obvous until you open the
PR again and notice the original text is now missing. The behaviour is the
same regardless of whether tkgnats or gnatsweb is used to edit the PR.
>How-To-Repeat:
Submit a PR with a long description without any linefeeds.
1200 characters is sufficient, equivalent to 15 lines of 80
characters. Open the PR and edit by adding a blank line after
the end of the description and adding a couple of lines of text.
Submit the change and re-open the PR. The original text description
will be gone.
>Fix:
Work around: make sure you add carriage returns every 80 characters
or so.
