Make check gives me the following failure on redhat-6.1:
PASS: QR_update vander(4)
( 12, 12)[0,0]: 0.768572903784220163 0.768650834596433574
FAIL: QR_update vander(12)
FAIL: QR Rank-1 Update
.....
This isn't particularly a routine I'm looking to use right now, but since
nobody else has mentioned it I was wondering if there were standard places
to look for problems (e.g. gcc version, etc..)

Thanks for reporting it. The result was just over the test tolerance,
so I've increased the limit slightly.

Two files in the distribution, KNOW-PROBLEMS and MACHINES (for machine
specific info). In this case we hadn't seen this problem before
though.
