 I wish I had a better answer. We currently cannot interrupt anything in
 the console window. I remember at one time I tried to do this, but I got
 into big trouble with core gdb longjmp'ing my interpreter state to
 oblivion.
 
 We generically lack the ability to interrupt almost any operation. :-(
