Insight Freezes

Hi,

     I installed gdb 6.3 and insight 6.1 on Redhat Enterprise 3. When I attempt to attach to a process to debug it insight just hangs. Any idea what is wrong?

Several things to try:

1) Run gdb 6.1 (i.e., insight --i=console/-nw) and try to attach to a
process. Does it work?

2) Attach (any) gdb to the frozen insight process. Can you get a
backtrace?

3) Try CVS HEAD.

Hmm. Sounds like a different bug. ;-)

Your backtrace below looks a little suspicious, eh? :-) It seems to me
that we're off in la-la land. The first recognizable stack frame is in
gdb's insert_bp_location.

If I had to guess, I would say it's a problem with gdb 6.1. I suggest
trying cvs head (directions below).
