Soon in a Gnats database near you...
I set the preferences to enable the Tracing mode (only effective on the
next run, I am not sure why).
In this case there are two interchangeable sets of buttons for Control
and Browse.
By repeatedly switching between Control and Browsing modes, I noticed
that
the toolbar buttons start to move one by one from the aligned left set
to the aligned right set (the one with stack buttons).

I fixed this in the new code. I don't have time to retrofit
it in the old code right now, so I may leave it as a bonus for
using the new version.
