Dear Sirs,
I'm trying to compile insight (v6.4) on my Fedora Core 5 Linux (kernel 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5smp). I'm doing the following (I've added a blank line before prompt in order to improve the readability):

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 ~]$ tar xvfj insight-6.4.tar.bz2

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 ~]$ mkdir build

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 ~]$ cd build

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 build]$ ../insight-6.4/configure
creating cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
  [some output cut]
checking if symbolic links between directories work... yes
updating cache ./config.cache
creating ./config.status
creating Makefile

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 build]$ make
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/maxp/work/build'
mkdir -p -- ./libiberty

../../../insight-6.4/tcl/unix/configure: line 7061: ` OSF*)'

make[1]: *** [configure-tcl] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/maxp/work/build'
make: *** [all] Error 2

[maxp@Linuxmrd2 build]$

I had a look at tcl/unix/configure, but I am no such a shell wizard to fully understand what's going on... apparently there is one or more syntax errors and that's too weird to me to be true :-).

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance.

Yup, that was a well-known problem with that release. A mailing list
search would have turned up the patch to fix it. Typically, I don't
respin releases, but I think putting up a tarball with that one change
should be done.

So I am going to do it, even though 6.5 is right around the corner.

I apologize for not doing this sooner.

Keith
