Try running `gdb /tmp'. You get no indication that anything is wrong.
This is confusing if you try something like `gdb gdb', and there
happens to be a directory `./gdb/'. This happened to me -- I spent
some time trying to figure out what went wrong...
I think this is a bug. The command-line gdb prints an error message.

Definitely. It is also a bug that Insight doesn't start up BEFORE gdb
loads an exe when it is specified on the command line...
Thanks for the note. I'll add something to my todo list for it.
