Thank you for your advice.
tclsh84.exe works. I specified TCL_LIBRARY as you suggested. Then, the
program I would like to install on cygwin starts, but immediatelly crushes
(page fault). Before I had the same result without specifying TCL_LIBRARY,
but after linking /usr/share and /share.
Best regards,
Goranka

I haven't played with BWidgets is quite some time, but I don't see
offhand why it would not work. Have you tried debugging the problem?

Hi.
Is it possible to use BWidgets with cygwin's tcltk ? The package (working
on unix/linux) uses Bwidget1.3.0. When I use it on cygwin a run-time error
at the point of applications of bwidgets exists.
Thank you for your answer.
Best regards,
Goranka

Yes, you've found the "right" place.

Is the environment variable TCL_LIBRARY set? You might try explicitly
pointing it at /usr/share. Remember, though, that tcl takes
windows-style paths not POSIX paths. So if /usr is mounted on c:\cygwin,
you need to specify "TCL_LIBRARY=c:/cygwin/usr/share/tcl8.4".
Can you run tclsh84.exe from the shell?

Hi.
Christopher Faylor wrote on gmane.os.cygwin: "If you have problems with
tcltk it is best to send them to the insight mailing list..."
On cygwin I compiled the package XCrySDen (visualization of molecules,
C+fortran), which runs on several unix/linux systems. When I start the
program on cygwin the error message is:
"can't find a usable init.tcl in the following directories:
C:/CYGWIN/share/tcl8.4...
This probably means that TCl wasn't installed properly."
I installed tcltk this week on cygwin installed last year (with addition
of several packages since then). I now have tcl8.4 anf tk8.4 in /usr/share,
but also tcl8.3 in /external/lib.
Thanks for help,
Goranka
