Hello.

I'm very new to gdb and I have a couple of questions.

I'm currently running Linux. Am I correct in assuming that if I have the
gtk stuff installed, I can run insight?

Of course I already have the traditional command line gdb installed.
Will installing insight ruin that?

Insight does not use gtk. It uses the Tcl/Tk toolkit.

Just install insight into another directory and set your PATH.
You will of course need to download and compile insight first.
