Bugfixes have made it into the classpath version of java.util.Calendar, but are
not in the version of Calendar used in libgcj. Bug 22957 is an example. See
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java-patches/2005-q4/msg00181.html for a patch that was
applied to the 4.0.x branch. Tom Tromey mentioned that he is working on changes
to allow use of the Calendar class from the classpath import
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java-patches/2005-q4/msg00186.html.

------- Comment #2 from mckinlay at redhat dot com 2006-02-13 22:02 -------
libgcj is not yet using Classpath's locale database, so classes (including
Calendar) that rely on the old locale information are yet to be merged. I'm
working on a patch for the trunk that will switch libgcj to use Classpath's
locale information. Once that it done, the libgcj-local versions of Calendar
and other locale-dependent classes will go away.
