I don't seem to have write privs for insight. I need them to
check in libgui changes.

% setenv CVSROOT :ext:mdejong@sourceware.cygnus.com:/cvs/src

% cvs co -c
cannot change permissions on temporary directory
Operation not permitted

Did you try repeating the command? There is some kind of race
condition or something in CVS (has been for years) and no one has
found it yet (as far as I know). It is in the CVS manual, here's one
web copy of the relevant section:

http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/COMP/info/cvs/cvs_21.html

I've also added you to group insight but that's a separate problem as
far as I know.

Strange. I guess that is yet another reason subversion needs to
get done ASAP.

I tried it again, now I get a different error:

% cvs co -c
Warning: Remote host denied X11 forwarding.
Sorry, you don't have read/write access to the history file
/cvs/src/CVSROOT/history
Permission denied

I fixed this by adding you to the src group.

(digression alert). While I do hope for that day (being a technical
reviewer for O'Reilly's upcoming pocket guide to CVS reminded me of
just how many warts CVS has), writing a system from scratch is not
likely to remove the need for debugging. Quite the contrary :-).
