I'm pretty sure I can't approve the request for him to be added to write
after approval, however, a "sponsor" type person gets the mail and bit
for the approval. Hmm...

Anyone object?

As I understand this, David Daney has applied for write access and
specified you as the supporting person, right? And you feel that
you are not authorized to grant that access?

(a) You don't know David. Then reject.

(b) You know David.
Then I'd suggest you introduce him to an authority who trusts you.
This should make a trust chain.

> Anyone object?

I'd think that some big-enough authority has to acknowledge the grant.
It shouldn't suffice that nobody objects.

Just my opinion.

Regards,

Christian Cornelssen

Of course. I've approved the request via the interface, but I think
someone else needs to approve the final bits. I think :)

Of course, I just realized that I don't know if David has a copyright
assignment on file.

I'll send him mail.

He does, as of 10/10/2003.

In that case, it is my understanding that any gcc maintainer can
nominate someone else to the checkin-after-approval list.

I'll wait a while for someone to tell me I'm wrong but if I don't
hear from anyone by tomorrow afternoon EST, I'll approve this
request.
