mailing list archiver doesn't handle tabs in subject lines

Hi,

I copy-pasted a ChangeLog entry into the subject line of a mail to 
gcc-patches, and overlooked a tab in the line.  Got rewarded with
a trunkated subject and my email address exposed without the usual
name at wheteever dot whatever magnling.

Is there something that can be done about this?

That's not what the message looked like by the time mhonarc got it:

That blank line after the CET-timestamp "Date:" header marks the end
of the header lines in a properly formatted mail message.  I'm guessing
something on your system added the second Date: header (also in CET)
before the message went out.

I'd say this is a MUA bug.

Not really -- e-mail names in the body of messages are never munged.
You wouldn't have been any better off with respect to e-mail address
mangling even if the message had been properly formatted.
